Pin function NC - Not connected: How can I make a pin NC?
If you do not connect a green signal trace to a pin of a schematic symbol it remains unconnected. In consequence the red X at the sensitive tip of the pin remains. If you later start the "Check project" function, unconnected pins can cause an alert because a pin, for example having the function "Input", wants to get connected. So if it remains unconnected, a check leads to an alert.
If you want to leave the pin unconnected though and want to avoid the alert you can set the function of the pin to NC: Double click the red pin in question and get the dialog: "Change Pins". Change its Function to Not connected (NC) see drop down menu. Press [OK].
NOTE: If you get the dialog "Change Symbols" instead, you first need to do a right click in empty space and deactivate the first option of the context menu "Select entire component". See: Select single elements or single segments.
