Why do my tracks not connect to the pads?
In most cases you are routing red tracks on layer 2 = "copper bottom", but (blue) SMD solder pads need to be connected on layer 16 = "copper top". Please start the track directly on the blue layer 16 or create a via with the [ . ] key (=period or full stop) while routing the track on layer 2. This will also change the working layer from 2 to 16, so you can also connect pads on the top side.
