How can I determine the signal name of a solder pad?
If you work with schematic, then connect the corresponding pin in the schematic with signal traces to the desired signal. In this case the schematic is always the "boss" and the respective solder pad comes along. If all other connections of the signal are on another schematic page, then connect the pin with a reference symbol and a short signal trace to the desired signal. Just putting pins on top of each other does not make connections.

If you are working without a schematic, then connect the solder pad directly to the desired signal with
copper traces. You can also double click a solder pad and enter the signal name. To do this, you must first switch off "Always select entire component", otherwise the whole package will show up instead of the solder pad. This can create an airwire, which you then have to route into a trace.

The golden rule here is:
That wants to be connected what has the same signal name!
