Do I have to reinstall TARGET for an update?
If you want to update within the same main version number, go to the menu item "Help / Free update..." in TARGET. TARGET will then after a request automatically perform an update, if new file versions are available.
If you have a version with a new main version number, this must be reinstalled. To do this, download the installer (EXE) and start it. When you start the newly installed TARGET for the first time, you will be asked whether old settings and the component database should be taken over.
After that, this is the earliest time to consider whether you want to uninstall the old version. TARGET only occupies a few MB of space on your data carrier and the versions can coexist without any problems. Uninstallation is therefore usually not necessary.
