Help! TARGET crashed and I could not save my project. Is there a rescue?
According to the feedback from our customers, TARGET runs very stable. A crash should of course never occur. However, with over 800,000 lines of source code, we cannot rule out errors 100%.
If TARGET is still visible but no longer reacts or only responds to all keystrokes with a "bing" sound, you should check whether you have minimized a modal, i.e. blocking, window at the bottom left of the screen. You can try to enlarge this again, if possible. Or try typing [Alt] + [F4] to close such an invisible window. This might bring TARGET back to life.
If not, TARGET creates backups and autosaves of your work In the background. The files are called:
*.BK1 ... *.BK9 and *.T3001A ... *.T3001C
They are located next to your project file in the subdirectory "BackupFiles". Do not be alarmed immediately if the directory seems to be empty. When opening a file, TARGET looks only for the extension T3001. Set the bottom right of the file open dialog to show the other file types as well.
