Theme: Signal polygons, ground planes (V19+)
An automatically generated thermal does not please me. I want it differently. Is this possible?
In the dialog "Create signal polygon", you can remove the tick from "already connected pads too":

Now draw the bars like tracks by hand and have the area filled again. As soon as there is only one manual bar, no more automatic ones are drawn:

Even if you don't want a bridge at all, draw a very short bridge as a trace inside the pad. The other way round: If no heat sink is created anyhow, a short piece of track may be hidden under the pad. Then use the [#] key for the X-ray view and the [s] key to select.
