Signal Polygon: Rank - what does it mean?
If polygons overlap, the one overlapping another must have a higher rank, so that it will cut something off from the other one. If a polygon is embedded in the other one, then the inner one must always have a higher rank. If necessary, the lowest ranking polygon eventually must be filled again so that it can take the higher ranking polygon into account. The higher the rank, the higher it's cipher. So rank two dominates rank one. The rank is also described here.
