In the layout view: How can I fade out the component values?
The component names and values are normally placed on the same layer as the position print. So either on layer 21 for the top side or level 7 for the bottom side. In this stage the names, values and drawings can only be faded out together. This can be changed by the following menu item:
(Figure 1: Shift component names and values to separate layers
Component names and values are then placed on extra layers. Normally on layers 28 to 31:
(Figure 2: Layers added to the end of the layer stack)
Now you are able to fade in and out names and values as you please.
This change affects instantly all components that have already been placed. However, once the layers exist, they are also used for new components to be placed. Their names and values are also to be found on these layers.
You can also delete the text for the value of a component in the layout view. To do this, first switch off "Select entire component" so that you can select the text of the component value individually. When it is selected, press the [Del] key and the name is gone. If you double click the handle cross of the component, you can also restore the name later.
