How can I insert a new component from the schematic into the PCB as a package?
Please click here in the toolbar on the IC symbol:
(Fig. 1: Toolbar) Or type directly the [Insert] or [Ins] key on your keyboard. The following dialog appears:
(Fig. 2: Select component) After [ OK ] the package hovers directly at your mouse. You can now type the [m] key for mirror to move the component to the other side of the PCB. To rotate click the mouse button M2. When the position is correct, a mouse click M1 places the package in the board.
You can also drag and drop a package directly from bottom right of the sidebar:
(Fig. 3: Drag&Drop from the sidebar) Of course you can also let the auto-placer place the remaining packages.
